Fingernail is a piece that exemplifies a truly raw energy. Painted completely with the artist's hands this piece was layered with ink and acrylic and then aggressively scratched through with fingernails. Fingernail scratching is often a natural response to entrapment, this piece reflects failed attempts at escape and the urgency associated with desire for change.
